I am officially in Puerto Vallarta and I am happy as a fish in the ocean!
It is a beautiful night, just plus 24, and the air is humid and wonderful. I was picked up by my friend Brad at the airport and promptly escorted to a taco stand for quesadillas con carne asada (beef). It was so good. The ladies at the taco stand giggled and cracked jokes about Brad and his new friend. We joked that we were married and I told them that I wanted ten kids.
I am at Brad's home now with our friend Dali and her friend Christi. We are all watching the fights, a boxing match between a killer Phillipino and a famous Mexican boxer.
I have also stuffed my face with galletas (cookies) and I am drinking my favorite pop, Manzana Lift (apple pop).
Tomorrow in the morning I will be catching the boat to Yelapa where I will be staying with the family. I am staying in a neat little room below their place that is lovingly referred to as The Cave by people who have been there. One entire wall is just a huge rock/boulder and it is like you are staying underground. I am going to have wireless access from the room or very close by at Brad's office.
I am so in love with Mexico. I feel like I left my heart behind two years ago and finally I can scoop it up and have it back. If only this wasnt just a two week trip.
